TaKeTiNa Teacher Training |
A Three–Year Journey
The fourth US TaKeTiNa rhythm teacher training will begin with an introductory/selection course from April 3–5, 2009 in Palo Alto, CA.
This unique training spans three years. The class of 25 meets twice a year for a two–week period at the Still Meadows Retreat Center, in Damascus, OR.
The curriculum covers TaKeTiNa basics and skills; learning to lead a TaKeTiNa circle, as well as an instrument training. Participants learn to play the berimbau, surdo, and the drum of their choice––either the changgo or conga––as well as other percussion instruments for exercising left–right independence. The training allows participants to go deeply into the world of rhythm and use it as a transformative tool.
Reinhard and Cornelia Flatischler are excellent teachers and leaders who have much to offer any individual who wishes to use music and rhythm as their path of self–knowledge.
Zorina Wolf is the US organizer of the teacher training. She is also an advanced TaKeTiNa rhythm teacher.
